* Spaces are limited in these programs, therefore all candidates must go through an application process (this does not require a deposit fee). An application does not guarantee acceptance into LIT or CIT. LIT's will be contacted by phone for an interview and CIT's will be required to have a face to face interview with the Director and the Coordinator of the program.
Upon acceptance to the program, a registration form will then be completed and returned with the $40 non-refundable deposit. All remaining fees are due 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the program.
LIT (Leader In Training)
This two-week program will focus on developing interpersonal, social and organizational skills with an emphasis on leadership. The LIT program is a basic introduction to the life and functioning of the camp atmosphere.
LIT's will participate in group sessions on various topics (e.g., communication, health, risk-management) as well as interacting with campers and staff, and taking part in hands on learning and instruction of camp skills. One highlight of the program is a two-day camping trip where LIT's can take skills they've learned and apply them in a group setting.

CIT (Counselor In Training)
This four-week program will expand the skills learned in our LIT program and bring a more focused look at the responsibilities of the counselor within the camp environment. Sessions will go in-depth into the skills of a leader and the responsibilities involved in supervising and caring for campers. Part of the program will involve a one-week placement in a cabin, shadowing staff members and interacting with campers. As well, a five-day canoe trip will focus on group skills, leadership, and the various camping skills required for running successful overnight adventures for youth.
The program will end with hands-on development of the camp facility (i.e., designing and implementing program or activity equipment).
